Help out with applications, organising events, supporting fundraisers and promoting our fundraising opportunities. Learn new skills and gain experience in fundraising. Minimum commitment of two hours a week.

Timeframe
Length of commitment: Variable (3 – 6 months)
Frequency: One or two days a week
Estimated total hours: 4- 6 hours a week

 

Purpose of the admin role:

To help with the preparation and running of Centre 404’s fundraising, including events, research and applications. You will be involved in organisational tasks pertaining to events being organised like assisting with food and drinks orders, decorations, sending out invitations, coordinating tasks on the day and promoting the event through emails/ fliers or word of mouth. You will also help with researching and writing applications to Trusts and Foundations, identifying fundraising prospects including businesses and major donors, and supporting and developing donor relationships.

Key tasks/activities:

  • Assisting with preparations for events including but not limited to: promotion of event locally, organising decorations, distributing fliers, running of the event
  • Researching fundraising prospects, including Trusts, businesses and individuals
  • Writing correspondence including applications, updates and thank you letters

Personal attributes:

  • A friendly and helpful attitude and positive, proactive approach
  • Willingness to help out wherever needed with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Good communication skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of staff and service users
  • Confidence when using the telephone and answering enquiries
  • Willingness to assist with all activities involved with organising events
  • Good writing skills, with proficiency in English language

Training:     

  • An induction about the work of Centre 404 and relevant fundraising skills

As a Centre 404 volunteer you will receive:

  • A formal induction and Volunteer Handbook
  • Reimbursement of out of pocket travel expenses relating to your volunteer placement
  • Ongoing and regular support and supervision with the Volunteer Coordinator
  • Any training required to enable you to perform the volunteer role to the best of your ability, which will be arranged by and paid for by Centre 404
  • After 3 months as a Centre 404 volunteer, we will provide a reference if required for paid work or for other purposes
  • Protection through Centre 404’s employee liability insurance policy whilst on the premises or engaged in any work on behalf of Centre 404
  • Opportunities to meet other Centre 404 volunteers to share experiences
  • Invitation to the Centre 404 Annual General Meeting Summer Garden Party
