Transforming the lives of carers

What we want to achieve

We are working towards a world where people with learning disabilities, autism and their families have the support they need to enjoy the same rights, freedoms, responsibilities, choices, and quality of life as people within the wider community.
We know that support for family carers is essential to achieving this goal. Feelings of stress, isolation and loneliness are cited by carers who access our support. We need strong and resilient cares to ensure greater equality for those they care for.

What we want to deliver

We are raising funds to cover part of the cost of an additional Case Worker who will be responsible for providing individual information, advice and support to parents/carers of children & adults with learning disabilities, especially in relation to social welfare, disability benefits and rights.

For family Carers accessing and understanding their rights is a difficult and stressful journey. Due to the cost-of-living crisis our number of referrals has grown and we need your support at this time.

We need to provide more 1-2-1 support from our Case Worker, who can present complex information in an accessible manner, to our family carers, ensuring that they and their loved ones can access the best support. This is a lifelong and complex journey for Carers.

What we will deliver with your donations

• More hours of support from our Case Worker to new and current carers.
• This support ensures our carers our not alone on their journey, we aim to be with them from day one, but we can only achieve this with more donations.
• As a result of this support, we know our carers become more empowered and confident in their lifelong journey of caring for their loved ones from childhood to adult hood.
• Improving the resilience and mental health of all family carers – by offering sessions these 1-2-1 introductory sessions.
• Reduced social isolation for all new carers – by introducing them to networking opportunities with peers within the Centre 404 community.
What you need to know
• From midday Tuesday 3rd December until midday on Tuesday 6th December, donations made to Centre 404 via the Big Give website will be doubled from organisations and individuals that have already given £2,500 to our match funding pot.
• So, every £10 you donate will be doubled with funds from our matching pot.
• Any donations made directly to our Enthuse donation button will not be doubled.
• We will update the website and our social media posts when the link goes live to the Big Give website.
What we understand
We know times are difficult for many at the moment and the same is applies to Centre 404 so if you can’t donate, we understand but we would love you to look out of our social media posts and share with your contacts to spread the word about this campaign.
Together, we have the opportunity to raise £5,000 to provide more hours of Support from our wonderful Case Worker.
Remember, the match funding element means that your donation will be doubled! It means your donation will go twice as far to support our family carers.
