Salary: £25,000 per annum

Service: Supporting Families Service

Hours: Full time 35 hours a week

Contract type: Permanent

Are you resourceful, organised and adaptable, with an ability to confidently facilitate group discussions? Do you have a track record of developing partnerships and engaging positively with family carers and other professionals? If so, we have a role that may be just the right fit for you.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Supporting Families service as Family Engagement & Activity Coordinator. Sitting within a small – but very busy – team, we are looking for someone who has the drive to help shape and develop new and exciting approaches to support family carers of people with learning disabilities.

The service runs support groups, information sessions, events and family activities throughout the year – some of these groups include bimonthly ‘ASC for Tea’ group for parents of children with autism and speak-up groups where families have the opportunity to have their say on local service provision.

Your role will be to organise and facilitate some of these groups and events, as well as to deliver information sessions and provide outreach activities to engage families and professionals with the service.

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who can demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the role and an innovative approach to delivering engaging and successful activities. This role requires flexibility to travel to a range of locations across London Boroughs – strong interpersonal and organisational skills are also key! The ideal candidate will have experience of promoting and delivering events and activities, and of facilitating group work and positive outcomes for vulnerable client groups.
