Service:                              Supporting Families Service

Location:                            Across the Borough of Enfield with some work at Centre 404’s HQ in Islington

Salary:                                £30,000 per annum

Hours:                                 Full time, 35 hours per week

Contract type:                  6-month fixed term contract

Responsible to:                Head of Supporting Families Service

This role is to support SENDIASS – The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Services.

Centre 404 is a leading charity based in North London with an excellent reputation for providing high quality services to children and adults with learning disabilities and their families. This role will be part of our Supporting Families team that works with family carers of children and adults who have a learning disability and offers advice, training, support and events throughout the year.

This management role is based in Enfield and will oversee the day to day running of the service, supporting and supervising the team (currently two staff). You will ensure there is sufficient support for the team via a rolling volunteer recruitment and training cycle and will enable clients to access information, advice and support via different channels. You will also be required to maintain your own caseload of clients, as agreed with the line manager.

As one of the smaller teams within the Centre 404 organisation, this is an ideal opportunity for an effective and confident individual to bring SEND expertise to the team within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your role will require you to attend meetings with joint commissioners as well as other relevant stakeholders such as professionals in Social Care and use these opportunities to influence and gain buy-in for their responsibility towards support for SENDIASS in Enfield. You will partner with a range of other organisations; local and national, voluntary and community and will variably act as advocate, mediator, facilitator and supporter in the best interests of the children, young people and parents within the service

Knowledge of local authority processes, national policies and legislation and relevant SEND issues will be essential to this role alongside organisational expertise and leadership experience.

This is a potentially hugely rewarding role for an individual with experience of the SEND Code of Practice.
