Hours: 37 hours per week – Monday to Friday with occasional need for flexibility including weekends

Centre 404 is a prominent and successful charity that offers friendly, reliable and person-centred support to people with learning disabilities, autism and their families. We currently operate across 6 London Boroughs.

In this role you’ll get to see the direct impact you are making by offering people with learning disabilities the support they need to enjoy the same rights, freedom, responsibilities, choices and quality of life as others within the wider community. You will spend time providing support to people with learning disabilities in their own homes and out in the community. You will also have the opportunity to spend some shifts within one of our smaller and extremely welcoming and friendly supported living projects, providing assistance to our servicer users as they lead independent lives with the support of our team when they need and want it.

Duties will include support with day-to-day aspects such as shopping, preparing meals, some personal care, and attending appointments, as well as with leisure, social and physical activities, hobbies and personal interests with an emphasis on helping develop skills, confidence and relationships. A usual day (if there is such a thing) would see you supporting one service user from 9am to 11.30 am, maybe helping with dressing, shopping etc, spending some time with the team and service users at our supported living accommodation from 12pm til 4pm during which time you may join other Centre 404 members on a trip to a museum or a park and at the end of the day from 4.30pm til 6pm you may help a third service user to travel to Centre 404 to attend an activity such as our Friday night disco!

How to apply: Please submit a CV along with a cover statement (either within the email itself or as an attachment) addressing the following: “Tell us more about why you are interested in this role and what you would bring to this post in terms of your knowledge, skills and experience”.

Closing date: Friday 14th January 09:00 AM. Please note, the closing date will be bought forward if a successful candidate is found prior to Friday 14th January 2022.
