Trusts and Foundations

It is estimated that the number of younger adults with learning disabilities may rise by over 32% by 2030, with the number of unpaid carers also increasing and expecting to rise by 40% by 2037 (Papworth Trust, 2016).

For decades Centre 404 has been able to successfully develop and deliver key services to our service users and family carers because of the donations provided by many small and national charitable Trusts and Foundations.

Knowing that these organisations also believe in our mission to – work towards a world where people with learning disabilities, autism and their families have the support they need to enjoy the same rights, freedom, responsibilities, choices and quality of life as people within the wider community – has created strong partnerships.

We report back to all our funders not only highlighting the outputs but also focusing on the long-term outcomes related to the quality of life for our service users and their family carers and identify what would have happened without their generous donation.

Thank you to one of our current funders The Bupa Foundation Green Community Grants for funding The Seeds, Planting & Gardening Project.

This grant means that we are able to develop a therapeutic garden project that aims to provide  safe and accessible garden space where individuals with learning disabilities can engage in gardening activities that promote physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Youth Group participated in our Therapeutic Garden Project this week, they looked at the seedling trays and the group examined the broad beans seeds before they were planted. We filled up the trays with compost discussed why this was good for seed growth.
