We have a number of supported living services across London where we provide 24-hour support to people with a range of needs in either shared accommodation or individual flats with staff on site.
Our active support workers are highly trained and experienced in delivering person centred care. We use active support to enable people to lead and direct support as much as possible, and it is strengths based. We teach practical skills and coping strategies, building support networks around the person.
As our team receive a wide range of training, they can support people with high and complex needs, as well as those with mild to moderate learning disabilities and mental health support needs.
Supporting high and complex needs, our teams understand the support needs of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and additional health needs. We have an in-house Speech and Language Therapist who delivers training on communication for people with learning disabilities and who can provide support with accessible information, multimedia profiles and total communication approaches.
We work closely with the people we support, their families, circle of support and professionals to develop a support plan that meets the needs and wishes of each individual.
To move into one of our supported living services you will need to have some funding in place. You can contact your local council, social worker, or your GP to find out more. They can also put you in touch with a social worker to help get more information.
Once your local council has agreed your support, you can tell them that you would like Centre 404 to offer you the supported living service. You can also contact us on supportedliving@centre404.org.uk to let us know you are interested in Centre 404 and have funding in place.
We will review your request and see if we have any suitable space available based on your needs. If we feel that we have a space, we will arrange a visit to meet with you and get to know you better. We’ll talk about your current situation, support need and also what your hopes and dreams are.
We’ll arrange for you to visit the place that we feel would be suitable for you, so you can have a look around and ask our team any questions you might have.
We will create a support and funding proposal for you and send it to your local council for approval – keeping you up to date throughout the process.
Once funding is approved, we can set a move-in date, and we will support you through the whole transition process to make the move as smooth as possible.
Moving into her own flat with a dedicated support team around her has given Mary a huge amount of independence and she is now able to organise and live her life the way she wants to. She is always the first one willing to try out new things.

PJ has faced significant challenges in his early life, particularly due to involvement with the wrong peer group, which affected his confidence and emotional well-being. However, since moving to VCC, PJ began working towards positive changes.
Kensley is a friendly middle-aged man who has lived at Dingley Road for two years. When Centre 404 took over support in June 2023, Kensley was withdrawn, spent most of his time alone, and struggled with physical health conditions and his mental health.
Sharon is an adult with mild learning disabilities and complex health needs, who moved to Mildmay Avenue in 2011 to live more independently. Although sociable, she often stayed indoors and rarely made new connections.
