Our overall aim is to provide parents and carers with a planned short break/respite from their care duties and provide Children and Young People with fun and engaging activities.
We provide overnight stay during the weekends and school holidays. We also run 3 after school club sessions during term time Tues, Wed and Thur. We have 5 bedrooms within the service.
We offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities and thrive on engaging/enabling & empowering our children and young people to acquire independent living skills when attending their placements. Our support is person centred, and we work with all professionals within the borough to ensure the support and care provided meets the individual`s goals and targets.
His transition involved gradual steps, including overnight and full weekend stays. Consistently supported by the same staff, Abdur's independence and communication skills have improved, and his obsessive fixation on door fobs and keys has diminished.
To help him overcome this, Mohammed's support worker created a story about Centre 404, and he and his parents were invited to visit regularly. He also attended after-school clubs and weekend day care until he felt ready for overnight stays
