We are delighted to be taking part in The Christmas Challenge – the online match funding campaign run by the Big Give.

Together, this year in 2023 we will have the opportunity to raise £4,000 for activities that will support the wellbeing of our children & young people with a range of learning disabilities, including their siblings.

Our campaign will launch on Tuesday, which is 28th November.

Donations can only be made via the Big Give website. We will provide a link when the campaign goes live.

Remember, the match funding element means that your donation will be doubled! It means your donation will go twice as far to support our children or youth with learning disabilities and/or autism, along with their siblings, at our after-school clubs where they can make friends and have fun together.

Learning Disability After School Clubs

This project provides after school activity sessions for children & young people with a range of learning disabilities, including their siblings, helping them to improve their communication skills, grow in confidence, build positive relationships and reduce their feelings of isolation.

We are working towards a world where people with learning disabilities, autism and their families have the support they need to enjoy the same rights, freedoms and quality of life as people within the wider community. After school support is essential to achieving this goal as these children’s specific needs are not specifically provided for within mainstream society. Equally for parents/carers this is valued respite time to support their individual needs and/or employment requirements.

What do we provide?

Focus on helping Young People with Learning disabilities (YPLD) and their siblings to achieve positive differences in their lives, via fun, exciting and developmentally challenging sessions. Activities are based around enhancing independence, personal safety, reducing social isolation, improving social skills and cultivating health and wellbeing. They will be supported by a variety of social/educational activities of their choosing, facilitated by trained and experienced staff and volunteers.

How is my donation doubled?

We have lined up a match funding pot provided by a major donor and a charitable trust. Every donation made will be doubled from this pot until it runs out – achieving our target of £4,000!

What happens if I donate after the match funding pot has run out?

You can still make a donation, even if the match funding pot has run out. In fact, we would encourage you to do so – even though your donation won’t be doubled, it will still add to the total raised for our children & young people with a range of learning disabilities, including their siblings, and if we exceed our target we become eligible for an additional cash award from the Big Give Christmas Challenge.
