International Transgender Day of Visibility

Today marks the 12th International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDoV) and Centre 404 would like to share their support for members of the transgender community.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence found that ‘45% of LGBT people using social care said they had experienced prejudice’ at some point in their lives. It’s time for this needs to change.

So, Centre 404 have found the below resources useful for not only informing us on how we can better support people with learning disabilities who identify as transgender, but also for educational purposes with documents explaining transgender identity in an accessible, easy-read format.

Centre 404 is committed to supporting both our staff and the people who use our services and identify as Transgender as vital work needs to be done to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of one of the most vulnerable groups in society.
