Role Virtual Activities Volunteer
Hours Flexible
Supported by Volunteer Coordinator, Project Managers
Location From Home
Commitment Flexible (one-off volunteering is possible but we’d prefer to have a regular commitment so we can build a digital activities schedule)

 

Purpose of this role:

To help make individuals feel less isolated by bringing people together as a group. By running a fun activity on Zoom, you can help to make people feel more connected.

 

Accessible activities are our main priority i.e. targeted at people with a learning disability or autism. However, we do also have family carers who would benefit from these activities so quiz and mindfulness sessions etc. aimed at adult audiences are also welcomed.

 

Activity Ideas:

  • Quiz
  • Arts and Crafts Activity (learn to make or draw simple items)
  • Mindfulness session
  • Bingo
  • Cooking sessions
  • Virtual Disco (songs night where people can request different songs to be played)
  • Drumming/ Music Therapy/ Joy of Sound

 

Personal Attributes Required:

  • Ability to use Zoom or other virtual platform to share session remotely
  • Ability to create an activity session to share that will last approximately 1 hour
  • Kind, warm and friendly
  • Excellent communication skills and are ‘people’ persons
  • Ability to adhere to Centre 404’s mission statement and values, and use a person centred based approach when working with others
