Carers Hub Islington and Age UK
Many Islington residents who look after, or provide much needed support to a partner, friend or relative, don’t think of themselves as unpaid carers. To be a carer, you don’t necessarily need to be providing practical support, such as helping someone to dress or to eat, you can also be helping with things like getting shopping and supplies, cleaning or arranging for bills to be paid. You might simply be at the end of a phone to help your loved one sort things out in their day to day life, or to provide emotional support. You don’t need to be living with someone to be an unpaid carer.
If this sounds like you, do join us for Carers Rights Day! Or if you know someone who is providing unpaid care for a loved one, do let them know about the day.
Islington Carers Hub is going to be running a series of hourly information sessions, invaluable to carers to help them to get to know their rights. This includes their rights when it comes to certain things to do with housing, financial support, taking a break and more. Also to get to know about the support available in the borough for carers and their cared for.
