Dear Family Carers,
Katy Briggs Commissioning Manager is conducting a review of the therapy offered into schools provided by the Islington Additional Needs and Disabilities Service (IANDS). This is due to needing to meet the growing need for these services with no additional resource
Area of interest:
The number of children and young people needing support (including the number requiring SEN support and those with EHCPs) is going up, and the number of children and young people with more complex needs is increasing. They also need to make sure that we are able to meet the needs of young people up to 25 years old with SEN in full time education, in line with the SEND Reforms.
However, even though the need is increasing, there is no additional resource available to meet the need.
IANDS provide Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy in schools and other settings. This review is focusing on the offer into schools.

How will this impact the current service?
The aim of this review is to think about how they can meet the increasing need within the resources available. Your input is greatly valued, and commissioners want to ensure that services are needs led, and fully informed by those who access services.
How can I be involved?
You can get involved through online workshops and surveys. If you would like to be involved, but are not able to access these, we can work with you to find a more suitable way for you to speak to us and give us your views.
